‘The Marriage of Figaro’ presented by Music Theatre and Opera

ASU School Of Music, Dance & Theatre
Start Date
March 15 @ 7:30 pm
End Date
March 15 @ 10:30 pm

Considered one of the greatest operas ever written, “The Marriage of Figaro” is a cornerstone of the repertoire and appears consistently among the most frequently performed operas in the world. Composed in 1786 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with an Italian libretto written by Lorenzo Da Ponte, and based on the 1784 stage comedy by Pierre Beaumarchais, The Marriage of Figaro tells how the servants Figaro and Susanna succeed in getting married, foiling the efforts of their philandering employer Count Almaviva to seduce Susanna and teaching him a lesson in fidelity.

From the first notes of the famous overture to the most noble of operatic finales, Mozart and Da Ponte’s comic and powerful opera remains entertaining, powerful and timeless.

Music by W.A. Mozart; libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte; stage direction by David Radamés Toro; music direction by Brian DeMaris.

This show is suitable for all audiences. Sung in Italian with supertitles. Duration approximately 3 hours.
