Celebrate the holidays season with TMA on December 8th with a variety of hands-on activities, performances with community partners, and pictures with Santa!
Art- making activities from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
Tissue paper stain glass ornaments- Create the effect of stain glass using tissue paper to make your own ornament or piece of art.
Felt holiday pins- Using felt to create your own festive wearable art.
Frames for Santa pictures- Use a mix of materials to create a frame for your picture we Santa.
The Sugar Plum Fairy from Ballet Tucson’s The Nutcracker will be at the museum to share some special holiday magic. Children of all ages are invited to join her Nutcracker ballet class and to hear the enchanting story of The Nutcracker. – 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
Get your picture taken with Santa in the museum’s Creative Space. The museum will provide Intax instant photos and will give you the opportunity to take your own pictures on your own devices. – 12 p.m.-2 p.m.
Arizona Women’s Chorus will perform a blend of seasonal-themed music and holiday-inspired tunes in the museum galleries. – 1 p.m.-2 p.m.
Rusalka: the Littlest Mermaid by the Arizona Opera, 12p.m.- 1 p.m.

Join us at the Tucson Museum of Art for Rusalka: The Littlest Mermaid during Second SundAZe! This charming adaptation takes audiences on a magical journey as Rusalka, a young mermaid, dreams of becoming human to follow her heart. When her pact with the Sea Witch forces her to give up her voice, Rusalka’s chance at love is put in peril. Unlike the original story, this version ends on a hopeful note, as our heroes’ risk everything to become who they were always meant to be. Don’t miss this enchanting performance full of adventure, love, and self-discovery!
