Khaled, a 12‑year‑old from a Palestinian village, dreams of seeing the Mediterranean for the first time. When a school trip halts at a checkpoint, he bravely embarks on a solo journey toward the sea, navigating unfamiliar terrain and language. As his devoted father sets aside work and risks everything to find him, their intertwined quest becomes a moving testament to love, resilience, and hope.
Winner of five Ophir Awards, including Best Picture, The Sea has been selected as Israel’s official submission for Best International Feature Film at this year’s Academy Awards.
