“Babe” at the Summer Picture Palace

This summer, escape the heat and step into the cool comfort of the Fox Theatre to enjoy the heartwarming tale of “Babe.” This G-rated 1995 comedy-drama captures the adventures of a charming little piglet named Babe, voiced by Christine Cavanaugh, who finds a new home on Farmer Arthur Hoggett’s farm, played by James Cromwell.

Farmer Hoggett wins Babe at a county fair, and the piglet’s journey begins. Originally destined to become Christmas dinner, Babe’s fate takes a fortunate turn. Farmer Hoggett decides to enter him in the next fair’s herding competition. Under the guidance of Fly, the motherly border collie voiced by Miriam Margolyes, Babe discovers his talent for herding sheep.

Directed by Chris Noonan and produced by George Miller, “Babe” is a delightful film that combines humor and drama in a story about friendship, courage, and the idea that anyone can defy the odds.

As you enjoy the movie, you’ll also be part of a Tucson tradition. The Fox Theatre is known for being the first public building in Tucson with air conditioning. It offers a perfect setting to relax and watch a film in comfort.

Don’t miss the chance to watch “Babe” at the historic Fox Theatre. The cool air and warm stories make for a perfect summer outing. Bring your family and friends to experience this endearing film that continues to capture the hearts of audiences worldwide.
