With tight arrangements and free-wheeling improvisations, rising quartet LP AND THE VINYL sends pop and R&B favorites through a kaleidoscope of jazz. Led by renowned vocalist Leonard Patton, the group’s repertoire draws from three separate areas: beautifully reimagined renditions of favorite hits by artists including Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, and David Bowie; fresh and funky explorations of jazz standards; and their own original songs. What lends consistency to their approach is the group’s ability to bring something new to the music every time. Through Patton’s infectious charisma, and the virtuosic interplay between pianist Danny Green, bassist Justin Grinnell, and drummer Julien Cantelm, LP and the Vinyl has created a highly unique and personal approach to music-making that leaves its audiences energized and craving more.
Entry is allowed at least one hour prior to the concert. Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets. Food truck available for concessions, or you may bring your own food and beverage (no alcohol or glass containers). No smoking, weapons, pop-up tents, or pets (trained service animals permitted). Wheelchairs available for those who need assistance from the parking lot to the green.
