“I Can See the Light” Virtual Concert
Please join Arizona Repertory Singers online for our spring virtual choir concert, “I Can See the Light,” celebrating nature, love, music and singing. The virtual concert experience will include embedded videos of ensemble members singing from their homes, along with conductors notes, and videos from the director. The concert will remain online until May 15, 2021.
Our journey takes us from Eliza Gilkyson’s “Requiem” – a song of grief composed after the Asian Tsunami in 2004 – to Dolly Parton’s “Light of a Clear Blue Morning.” This music reaffirms that light will shine through the darkness once again.
Along the way, we revel in the beauty of our Earth and the quiet space of faith as expressed by Conor Koppin in” When Music Sounds.” A trio of love songs provides another lens through which to explore love, loss, compassion and redemption.
We also present two instrumental pieces – a vivacious piano solo by our accompanist, Trissina Kear, and a virtual guitar quartet performance by our Music Director, Ryan Phillips.
