DESCRIPTION:Returning to Arizona with a new work commissioned by Scottsdale Arts\, Jacob Jonas The Company brings its cinematic dance approach to Nature Sounds while the IV Drips\, the second work in its Keeping Score trilogy. The series is choreographer Jacob Jonas’s first post-cancer work. Inspired by Bessel van der Kolk’s book The Body Keeps the Score\, the trilogy is a journey to understanding illness. With original music composed by Imogen Heap\, Nature Sounds while the IV Drips explores themes of endurance and survival through sustained hospital stays\, where a patient is alone with their thoughts while undergoing chemotherapy. JJTC is known for blending contemporary dance\, acrobatics\, and street dance influences.
