SUMMARY:Women of Americana: A Celebration of American Music
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a night of early American folk\, gospel\, and western swing music. Audience members will tap their toes to classic tunes like “This Land is Your Land” (Woody Guthrie)\, “This Train” (Sister Rosetta Tharpe)\, “Just Like a Woman” (Bob Dylan). Featured artist Cristina Vane\, a singer-songwriter\, slide guitar\, and clawhammer banjo player\, is a product of merging numerous worlds. Vane ingeniously blends her heavier roots in classic rock and 90s indie\, with her passion for pre-war blues\, old time fiddle banjo music\, country and bluegrass. The concert co-stars Brennen Leigh\, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist on guitar and mandolin\, who’s to-the-point storytelling style has elevated her to cult icon status.
